What makes this program special?
1. It teaches you to access the mind, body, emotions (heart) and spirit of a child while supporting parents/caregivers along the way. We address the child as a whole person while attending to problems.
2. We promote resilience and wellbeing in children by assisting them to build a bank of resources to support their inner life and where possible the Children’s Holistic Living Counsellor (C.H.L.C.) conveys this to their parents/guardians.
3. The extent of the practitioner’s personal evolution as well as professional evolution powerfully affects the nature of the interaction.
4. Holistic Living philosophy means, any one who is working with children needs to support themselves holistically, especially the emotional self . This is because we accept that human nature being human nature, children will trigger the child in each of us. This can be positive triggers or painful unconscious ones. Our ‘holistic living’ responses to these triggers, will determine the effectiveness of how we facilitate the child’s journey for the time they are with us.
5. You work as much as possible in conjuntion WITH parents/caregivers to provide the child with the greatest possible support. The philosophy of this sort of work with children, is strongly based in family systems tehcniques which discourages the seperation of children from their parents. It is important to EMPOWER PARENTS because of their major role in their children’s lives.
