7 Living Essentials
The Holistic Living Training Institute (HLTI) was established in 1994 by Alannah Dore. It introduced a new style of counselling, incorporating unique practices which tackle underlying problems by supporting the emotional needs of the whole person. In addition to working with both men and women in the general community, Alannah was asked to go into schools to work with school bullies and their parents. Eventually she was required to transfer herself with her family to Melbourne Australia, where she re-established the HLTI.
Her mother had a great influence over Alannah’s counselling work. Upon her mother’s death, Alannah combined her own previous healing discoveries and developments with the passion and compassion she had experienced from her mother, to create a professional training programme. This programme was designed to develop more practitioners who could work effectively in the same unique style of empowerment counselling. Since then, many other programmes have sprung up using the name ‘Holistic Counselling’. Upon the urging of her own students, who had expressed concern that the unique nature of the HLTI programmes needed to be reflected in a distinctive title, she changed the name of her specific counselling style to Holistic Living Counselling.
With a desire to deliver the highest level of effectiveness in a personal growth package, Alannah completely overhauled the HLTI course in 2007 and 2008 to achieve its current, powerful status. The results speak for themselves. Participants fully appreciate and apply the ‘7 Living Essentials’ in their lives and enjoy the rewards.
Students who go on to experience the high quality training available to future practitioners demonstrate confidence, compassion and, most importantly, relatively quick results when working towards empowering their clients. Due to the uniqueness and excellence of the A’dor programmes it would be almost impossible for them to be duplicated by any other training body. The content and learning styles are an unrivalled mix, with many of the concepts and strategies having been developed or adapted by Alannah Dore herself.
Not only are these programmes filled with practical, hands on and first-rate content but the high expectations and essential qualities of the trainers and HLTI coaches themselves are exceptional. Every trainer involved in these programmes has been selected for their own high level of compassion, empathy and expertise in the use of the practices taught.
Today, Alannah Dore continues to bring light to many lives with her dedicated team of professionals. Programmes and products are ever evolving. The Holistic Living Training Institute predominantly provides home-based, online training, so that people nationally and internationally can improve their own lives and, if they so choose, train to work with others as A’dor counsellors.
Lisa Dell’Arciprete operates groups on campus in Melbourne Australia and Deborah Lyons provides coaching and training support for New Zealand. In addition, our team of professional coaches provides personalised, nurturing support for our wonderful students. This is a unique way of learning and, in this fast paced world, many students have expressed a sense of relief and of home coming almost immediately on joining a programme.
Whilst we love to encourage males to join the programmes it is interesting that, since moving to Melbourne, the courses and workshop experiences have, unintentionally, attracted mostly women (as you can see by a few of our testimonials
