Eco Policy
Definition: ECO refers to living systems that are working harmoniously and organically.
Mission Statement: To use sustainable materials and minimize our carbon footprint on the earth.
To do this holistically. Physically with the learning materials and responsible usage of resources, emotionally with strategies for self empowerment and responsibility and promoting a harmonious world, mentally, by minimising the psychological damage we have on each other and maximising the promotion of goodwill with all living beings. Spiritually by leaving a legacy of a meaningful and purposeful contribution.
Aims:
To use recycled materials wherever possible.
To minimize wastage by mimimizing materials and paper products and replacing these with electronic tools wherever possible, in accordance with our overall holistic living goals.
(This considers health and wellbeing of students by balancing time required in front of a computer.)
To minimize our carbon footprint on the earth through responsible and sustainable business practises.
We aim to make these transitions over a 3 year period. In the first year our focus will be on creating sustainable learning materials. In the second year we will focus on energy usage. In the third year we will consolidate and expand our best practices for events and administration.
The Holistic Living Counselling Foundation teachings already address self responsibility on an emotional, mental, spiritual and to some extent physical level. We believe that the emotional and mental aspects of this are well covered in the learning material for our students.
